NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH
Hello Arizona,
In the past 18 months we have all seen many changes in our country. We've felt the real pain of watching too many families lose their jobs, their homes, and their dignity. That being said, there does seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. However, with all the negative media attention the auto industry is receiving, you'd never know it. I believe it's time to fight back and help the American public understand. While things are certainly tough in our industry; there are some major positives and incredible accomplishments that are simply not being talked about.
First, let's talk about Ford Motor Company. I doubt that Mr. Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company, ever envisioned that 106 years later his company would be the topic of conversations around many Americans' dinner tables and every media outlet in the world. How could this be? A company that started building new vehicles in 1903 and has persevered right into the 21st century! I'm proud to tell the Ford Story; one that definitely needs to be told.
Ford Motor Company, in its own right, is a lot like a family owned business. That's something Ford and Berge Ford have in common. William (Bill) Ford is the great grandson of Henry Ford. And today, Bill holds executive office with Ford Motor Company. My father, C.M. Berge founded Berge Ford in 1944. Today, I'm proud to say our dealership is still 100% family owned and operated. Now isn't that how America was built? Family businesses passed down from generation to generation. |

Ford Motor Company is, and always has been, built on fundamentally sound business decisions. As you are well aware, General Motors and Chrysler are both floundering thru bankruptcy and downsizing not only their workforce but their dealer base as well. Ford is maintaining stability and continuously working to provide the finest automotive product on the market. Further, Ford Motor Company did not take one single penny from the American taxpayers. Several years ago, Ford's upper management team made smart decisions preventing them from needing any of the government funding handed out to our competition. Talk about forward-thinking!
